DNSSEC is used to protect the DNS system from manipulation that could, for example, redirect the user to another location. To protect DNS entries from misuse, they must be signed. What is the difference between Linux and Windows web hosting?

The main difference is the server operating system used. For Linux, Apache or Nginx are usually used as the web server, while Internet Information Services (IIS) are used for Windows. There are also differences in the database server: Microsoft SQL Server is used under Windows and MySQL or MariaDB are usually used under Linux.

The scripting language PHP can be used on both systems, as can ASP, which was originally developed only for Windows servers. The .NET framework, on the other hand, only runs on Windows. Neither system is better or worse than the other. Ultimately, whether a Windows or Linux hosting solution is used depends on the requirements of the solution.

Can I switch between Linux and Windows web hosting?
