Perl / CGI – Common Gateway Interface
Perl is a free, platform-independent programming language that can be used to write scripts such as counters, form analytics and guestbooks that can then be run on websites. Saving these scripts requires a special directory, the CGI-BIN directory, which is already pre-installed on our servers. Perl was developed for practical use and is therefore aimed at providing quick and easy programmability, integrity and adaptability. Perl has few requirements and intentionally offers multiple options for formulation and solutions for any problem. Some interesting links on the topic are provided below.
