Memory (RAM)

The amount of memory stated is the guaranteed portion of the host server’s RAM that is reserved specifically for your virtual server.
A specific amount of RAM is allocated to you for each package.

RAID 10 array

With RAID 10, data is mirrored and stored across an array of multiple disks. This improves availability and reduces the risk of disk failure leading to data loss. And the parallel use of multiple hard disks also significantly improves access times.

You are given one static IPv4 address with your virtual server.

Depending on the vServer package, the following number of additional IPv4 addresses may be ordered:

Costs for additional IPv4 addresses

For a fee, you can order additional IPv4 addresses in accordance with RIPE guidelines in My Panel. Each additional IPv4 address costs CHF 49.90 per year.

You are allocated a /64 IPv6 subnet for your virtual server.

Custom Images

Upload your own CD-ROMs, DVDs or Images and install you favorite operating system on your vServer.

Root access to vServer

You can adjust your virtual server exactly as you want it using root access. It's completely up to you what software you install. Independently manage and monitor your vServer at any time.

Reset option

You can use the vServer panel in My Panel to start, shut down or reset your server at any time, even if the system is no longer responsive.

Clean installation

You can re-install the vServer’s operating system at any time using the vServer panel in My Panel, even after the operating system has crashed.

Rescue system

You can use the rescue system to analyse your vServer’s problems at any time and rectify them.

Book new domains

Register the domains you want using My Panel and select your preferred internet addresses from over 80 domain extensions. You can find the prices for our domain packages here.

Quick activation (working days)

When you order a hosting package or a vServer from us, we activate your package as quickly as possible after receiving your payment and checking your data. This can be as soon as a few minutes after placing your order! Your complete satisfaction with our products is our highest priority.

No setup fees for your vServer

Setup of your vServer is included in our offer. There are no extra charges for this service.

Minimum contract period of 12 months

The minimum contract period for a vServer is one year and the contract is automatically extended by one year should no cancellation be submitted within the prescribed notice period.

Payment interval for vServer packages

Your vServer costs are billed to you annually and emailed to you around 60 days before the end of the contract period. Please keep your contact email address up-to-date!

Notice period

In accordance with our general terms and conditions, the notice period for cancelling a vServer package is 30 days before the end of a year’s contractual period.

Upgrade to a larger vServer package

Do you need more performance from your vServer? You can upgrade to a more powerful package at any time!

We recommend that you upgrade just before the invoice period, as the difference between the smaller and larger packages will be transferred immediately to your order.

Downgrade to a smaller vServer package.

If the scope of your vServer package no longer matches your requirements, you can always switch to a smaller package.

We recommend you downgrade just before the invoice period, as vServer fees already paid for the larger package cannot be reimbursed.

SLA (Service Level Agreement)

​Hoststar’s quality guarantee (SLA) includes all offers and products. This agreement defines the quality standards that Hoststar promises to deliver to you, its customer. These quality standards include items such as network and server availability, connection capacity, customer support, and backup of legal data stored on Hoststar’s infrastructure.

30-day money back guarantee

You have enough time to test our service thoroughly. If in the first 30 days after placing your order, you are not happy with Hoststar as your service provider or with your product, you can cancel the subscription within this time, and we guarantee that we will fully reimburse you.
